NCCE Tema Metro Hosts Parliamentary Candidates' Dialogue in Collaboration with Plan B FM

The Tema Metro office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the Inter-Party Dialogue Committee (IPDC) and Plan B FM, organised a Parliamentary Candidates Dialogue (PDC) in the Tema Central Constituency. The “Together We Can Build Ghana: Get Involved” event aimed to promote peace and civic engagement ahead of this year’s general elections. Parliamentary candidates Hon. Charles Forson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and Hon. Frederick Aniagyei, an independent candidate, attended to discuss their visions and policies. However, Hon. Ebi Bright of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was absent with explanation.

The Chairperson of the NCCE, Madam Kathleen Addy, commended the candidates for attending and promoting peace among their supporters. She encouraged absent candidates to reconsider their participation in future dialogues, describing their absence as a missed opportunity to engage with the electorate. The Tema Metro Director, Madam Gifty Badu, urged the candidates to use the platform to connect with voters and clarify their policies, assisting citizens in making informed decisions during the elections.

Rev. Francis Guggisberg, representing the IPDC, highlighted efforts to promote tolerance and peace among the youth through campaigns launched in seven high schools within the constituency. He encouraged candidates to collaborate with the NCCE and consider adopting the Tema Metro office as part of their development agenda if elected.
