The Greater Accra Regional Office of the NCCE has intensified efforts to promote peaceful elections by partnering with the Greater Accra Regional Peace Council to train community and youth leaders. The engagement focused on preparing participants to manage tensions and prevent conflicts associated with political activities, particularly in high-risk constituencies. Key facilitators included Rev. Samuel Kofi Osabutey, Mr. Henry Attoh Okai, Ms. Theodora Williams Anti, and Regional Director Mr. Mawuli Agbenu.
Participants were taken through practical sessions on violent extremism, vigilantism, and election-related conflicts, with emphasis on dialogue, mediation, and responsible political engagement. NCCE underscored the importance of inclusive participation, accountability, and tolerance in sustaining Ghana’s democracy, urging attendees to disseminate peace messages widely and contribute to ensuring free, fair, and credible electoral processes.
