NCCE Engages Persons with Disabilities in Kpassa on Unity and Economic Empowerment

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Nkwanta North District Office, has urged persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Kpassa to embrace unity and economic empowerment as essential drivers of peace, development, and self-reliance.

The engagement took place at the Kpassa Church of Christ, where the District Director, Mr. Fuseini Nurudeen, addressed members of the local Persons with Disabilities Association on the theme, "Togetherness for Peace, Unity and Development."

Speaking during the session, Mr. Nurudeen encouraged the participants to remain united by working together towards shared goals and aspirations. He stressed that a strong and organized union would enable them to advocate effectively for their interests while promoting their collective development.

Furthermore, he advised members to make prudent use of the portion of the District Assemblies Common Fund allocated to persons with disabilities. According to him, investing the funds in viable businesses would provide sustainable sources of income and secure their future.

Mr. Nurudeen also reminded participants that disability should never be seen as a limitation to success. He encouraged them to remain hardworking, determined, and committed to excelling in their various occupations, emphasizing that they are capable of making meaningful contributions to society.

In his remarks, the President of the Kpassa Local Chapter of the Persons with Disabilities Association commended the NCCE for its continuous support and civic education initiatives. He particularly acknowledged the Commission's role in promoting the welfare and development of persons with disabilities, especially during the distribution of items and other interventions that have benefited the group.
