NCCE, Electoral Commission Hold SRC Elections at Akyem Enyiresi D/A JHS

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), in collaboration with the Electoral Commission of Ghana, has organized a Student Representative Council (SRC) election for pupils of Akyem Enyiresi D/A JHS in the Eastern Region as part of efforts to promote democratic values among the youth.

The exercise, held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, was aimed at giving pupils practical knowledge and experience in democratic governance and electoral participation.

Sixteen aspiring student leaders contested for seven executive positions, while seventy-one eligible pupils took part in the peaceful and transparent voting process supervised by officials from the NCCE and the Electoral Commission.

At the end of the election, Master Enock Gomez was elected Boys’ School Prefect, while Miss Oforiwaa Emmanuella emerged as Girls’ School Prefect.

The election was conducted by NCCE staff, Miss Justina Konyo and Miss Eva Author-Wilson, under the supervision of the Atiwa East District Director of NCCE, Mr. Saviour Ametefe.

Speaking after the exercise, Mr. Ametefe said the NCCE remains committed to nurturing responsible and patriotic citizens by exposing young people to democratic principles such as participation, accountability, tolerance.
