NCCE Deputy Chairman Engages Students of Agric SHS Donkorkrom and Maame Krobo Community Day SHS

The Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations at the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Samuel Asare Akuamoah, has held impactful civic engagement sessions with students of Agric Senior High School in Donkorkrom and Maame Krobo Community Day Senior High School in the Afram Plains South District. The outreach forms part of ongoing efforts to inspire students, particularly in schools often described as less endowed, to remain focused, disciplined, and confident in their academic journey. Mr Akuamoah reminded them that their teachers possess the same professional competence as those in the so-called bigger schools, and that commitment, hard work, and a positive mindset can open doors regardless of location or background.

Addressing the entire student body, he encouraged the learners to take their studies seriously, believe in their potential, and resist any feelings of inferiority or intimidation. He stressed that excellence is not determined by a school’s label or status but by the attitude, discipline, and resilience of its students. Mr Akuamoah also used the opportunity to sensitise the students to contemporary risks facing young people in the digital age. He cautioned them against involvement in cybercrime, online bullying, and recruitment for violent extremism, and urged them to conduct themselves responsibly in cyberspace. Students were encouraged to use digital platforms for learning, research, and positive networking, and to become ambassadors of responsible online behaviour within their schools and communities, helping to build a culture of safety, respect, and integrity both online and offline.
