The Central Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Ms. Mercy Essien, on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, paid an official working visit to the Gomoa East Metropolitan Office of the Commission as part of her routine district engagements across the Central Region.
The visit formed part of the Regional Director’s continuous leadership outreach aimed at strengthening internal coordination and improving the effectiveness of civic education delivery at the district level. According to the Commission, the routine engagements provide a platform for management and staff to exchange practical experiences, review ongoing work, and identify operational needs that require attention. They also offer an opportunity for regional leadership to motivate personnel, clarify expectations, and provide direction where required, to ensure that district offices remain aligned with the Commission’s mandate and programme priorities.
During the engagement, Ms. Essien and her team interacted with staff and discussed key issues relating to staff welfare, performance, teamwork, and the importance of consistent community engagement. The Regional Director encouraged staff to sustain professionalism in their outreach activities and to continue strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders to enhance the reach and impact of the Commission’s public education programmes.
The Regional Director noted that such visits support institutional learning and help maintain quality standards in programme delivery, particularly as the Commission continues to expand civic education on constitutional values, citizens’ rights and responsibilities, peaceful coexistence, and responsible public conduct within a rapidly evolving digital environment.
