The Tema Metro Office of the NCCE, led by the Metro Director, Ms. Gifty Agyeiwaa Badu, paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Tema to discuss ways of strengthening collaboration to educate the public on both civic and national issues.
During the visit, Ms. Badu highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two institutions and expressed gratitude to GNA for its consistent support in amplifying the Commission's work over the years. She took the opportunity to brief the Agency on the core functions of the NCCE, stressing that the Commission is tasked with promoting awareness of constitutional democracy, educating citizens about their rights and responsibilities, and encouraging civic engagement. She also shared ongoing activities related to sanitation, tax education, illegal mining, child protection, and NACAP sensitisation in the Metropolis, all aimed at cultivating a more informed, law-abiding, and responsible citizenry.
In her remarks, the Editor and Head of GNA–Tema Office, Mrs. Laudia Sawer, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed GNA’s commitment to support the NCCE in promoting civic education and citizen participation. She stressed that both organisations share a common goal of educating citizens about civic rights and responsibilities, and expressed readiness to partner with NCCE in Tema and beyond.
