MUSLIM LEADERS EDUCATE AGAINST POLITICAL INTOLERANCE IN THE UPCOMING ELECTIONS

The Tain District Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education, Bono region has reiterated the importance of political tolerance as the country prepares for the 2024 crucial General Elections in December.

The District Director of the Commission Mr. Osman Seidu while addressing the Bono regional Annual Convention of the Ahlussunna Wal Jama’a held at Brohani pointed out that political tolerance enhances national unity, stability, and peace and at the same time ensures development.

The theme for the Convention was, Curbing the Rising Tide in Social Vices; the Role of Ahlussunaa Wal Jama’a.

He noted that political tolerance promotes mutual respect and trust among different political divides while ensuring that the expression of opinions is without fear of any form of attack. He added that political tolerance ensures peaceful elections and strengthens democracy.

Present at the event were, the first Deputy Chief Imam of the Ahlussunaa Wal Jama’a, Sheikh Mohammed Kamal Mohammed, Bono Regional Imam; Sheikh Abu-Muawiya Ibrahim Saeed Abdul Rahman, Wenchi Municipal Deputy Imam; Sheikh Hudu Ahmed Tijani among others.
