Kwahu East NCCE Participates in National Flood Aftermath Clean-up Exercise

The Kwahu East District Office of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has participated in the Government’s Two-Day National Flood Aftermath Clean-up Exercise organised by the Kwahu East District Assembly.

The exercise, which formed part of efforts to restore environmental cleanliness following recent flooding, commenced in the Nkwatia township on the first day and continued in the Kotoso township on the second day.

The clean-up brought together staff of the Kwahu East District Assembly, the Forestry Commission, the Ghana National Fire Service, the Ghana Immigration Service, the Ghana Police Service, the Ghana Armed Forces, and the National Ambulance Service. Students from St. Peter’s Boys Senior High School, St. Joseph Technical School, and Nkwatia Presbyterian Senior High School also participated alongside members of the public.

By joining the exercise, the Kwahu East NCCE reaffirmed its commitment to promoting civic responsibility, environmental sanitation, and active citizen participation in community development. The Commission encouraged residents to maintain clean surroundings and adopt responsible environmental practices to help prevent flooding and the outbreak of sanitation-related diseases.

The exercise highlighted the importance of collaboration among public institutions, educational establishments, and community members in building clean, healthy, and resilient communities.

The initiative forms part of the Government’s nationwide efforts to improve environmental sanitation and strengthen public participation in safeguarding the environment.
