The Krachi East Municipal office of the NCCE commemorated the 2025 Annual Citizenship Week with a series of school-based engagements themed: “Ghana’s Future: The Role of a Ghanaian Child”. The programme aimed to instil core national values among students across forty-two (42) basic schools, engaging over 4,500 pupils. Distinguished personalities, including the Municipal Chief Executive, representatives from the Ghana Police Service, Fire Service, and Ghana Education Service, participated in the celebration, each highlighting the importance of patriotism, discipline, unity, respect, and environmental stewardship as critical pillars for national progress.
Throughout the engagements, learners were urged to embody these values in their daily lives—respecting laws, protecting the environment, and contributing to community growth. In partnership with the Forestry Commission, tree seedlings were distributed to the schools to plant, reinforcing the message of environmental responsibility. Copies of the 1992 Constitution were also shared to enhance civic literacy. The celebration reflected a holistic approach by the Commission in shaping responsible future leaders while promoting national unity and democratic consciousness among Ghana’s youth.
