The Builsa South District Director of the NCCE, Caroline Aliko, has met with elders of the Fumbisi Traditional Council to interact with the Council on upcoming District Level Elections DLEs. The interaction took place at the 2023 Annual Constitution Week Celebration. The celebration was themed, “Thirty Years of consolidating constitutional Democracy: Building National Cohesion Through Civic Education and Participation in Local Governance”.
The engagement also gave information to the Traditional leaders, NCCE’s plans to increase voter turnout, encourage women, PWDs, and the youth to get involved and offer themselves as candidates to be voted for. She appealed to the Fumbisi Chief; Naba Akantagriwen Akanko II to use his position to influence women and PWDs, to get involved once they qualify to be voted for as Assembly and Unit Committee members.
Madam Aliko urged community members to live in peace and unity, respect the rule of law, be tolerant, and be security conscious.
