Ga South NCCE Sensitises Parents on Child Online Abuse

The Ga South Municipal Office of the NCCE has organised an educational programme on “Child Online Abuse” in several churches within the New Aplaku area. The outreach, facilitated by Mr. Abraham Amankwah Adjei and Ms. Belinda Anane, focused on equipping parents with knowledge and strategies to safeguard their children against online exploitation. Parents were encouraged to build trust through open communication, creating an environment where their children feel comfortable sharing their online experiences without fear of punishment.

Mr. Adjei highlighted the importance of teaching children about online boundaries, such as avoiding the sharing of personal information, while also stressing the need for parental supervision through filters and screen time monitoring. Parents were further advised to educate their children on discerning online content, as well as how to block, report, and exit unsafe situations. The initiative forms part of the Commission’s broader campaign to protect children and promote their well-being in an increasingly digital society.
