As part of the NCCE Mandate, a programme was undertaken at Kofi-Akura to empower citizens to demand accountability from duty bearers, both appointed and elected leaders. A social Auditing programme was organized at Kofi-Akura Community, bringing together the Member of Parliament of the constituency, DCE, the DCD, the Regional Director of NCCE, staff of CCA Headquarters, and some Heads of Departments in the District to the community, in which the community interacted with the leaders and presented a demand for a CHIP COMPOUND. The MP, in response, pledged to build a CHIP COMPOUND for the community in 2023.
Upon a series of meetings between NCCE and Chiefs and Opinion leaders, land was provided by the community, which led to the construction of the facility.
The Member of Parliament commissioned and handed over the project to the Community and thanked NCCE for the work done.
The District Director of NCCE, Mr. Fuseini Nurudeen, admonished the Community to take ownership of the project because they are the direct beneficiaries of the project and also take very good care of it for future channels of more projects to the community.
The Chief and elders of the community thanked the MP for honouring his pledge and also appreciated NCCE for bringing the programme to the community leading to the accomplishment of the Community owing health facility {CHIP COMPOUND} to care of their health needs.
