The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), has reiterated the call for Ghanaians to avail themselves for the COVID-19 vaccination exercise and disabuse their minds of the myths making rounds about the vaccines. The Kintampo South NCCE Director, Isaac Osei Agyemang assured the public about the safety of the vaccines, which he stressed has been approved by Ghana’s Foods and Drugs Board (FDA). He was speaking with Teachers and pupils of some Junior High Schools in the Kintampo South District including Amoma, Anyima, Ampoma and Agyina, Kokuma, Pramposo, Nante, Nante-Zongo, and Jema, where he sensitised them on the COVID-19 Vaccination and safety protocols.
The visit to the schools was partly to assess the safety protocols put in place by educational institutions to enable students to practice the safety protocols. The visit was again to educate students on COVID -19 Vaccines to equip them with the necessary information so as to urge their parents and other relatives to avail themselves for vaccination.
A volunteer with the Commission’s District Office, Mr. Arko David Kwadwo, reiterated the need for the pupils and teachers to continuously adhere to the COVID-19 safety protocols and encouraged people who are eighteen years and above to avail themselves for the exercise.
He further asked them to shun the myths surrounding the COVID-19 vaccines since they were unscientific, pointless and uncalled for.
