Asunafo North NCCE Engages Students on Plastic Pollution for World Environment Day

The Asunafo North Municipal office of the NCCE commemorated World Environment Day with an interactive engagement involving students from Goaso M/A JHS, Goaso Assemblies of God JHS, and Goaso Methodist JHS. Centred on the theme “Ending Plastic Pollution – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” The event featured scenario-based quizzes designed to instil practical waste management habits among students. The Municipal Director, Mr. Harris Quansah, and Basic School Coordinator Mr. Kyei Bofa led the sessions, emphasising responsible plastic use and sustainable environmental practices.

Deputy Director of the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly, Mr. Evans Akinga, praised the initiative, highlighting the importance of educating young minds in the fight against environmental degradation. Students actively participated in the activities, applying real-world solutions to plastic waste challenges and pledging to adopt the 3Rs in their daily lives. The event closed with a collective call for continued environmental stewardship, positioning students as change agents in the ongoing global campaign against plastic pollution.
